FLOATING, HOLLOW, MID-OCEAN TETRA PYRAMID CITIES

R. Buckminster Fuller proposed giant hollow tetrahedron floating cities anchored in mid-ocean.
They would serve as harbors for transferring cargo, as airports,

and as bases for ocean development.

The aluminum octet truss framework would be substantially stronger

and less expensive than conventional rectangular framing.

The cost of real estate would be eliminated.
Similar type structures could be built on land.
